Bayern Munich eased past Augsburg in a 1-0 victory on Saturday at the Allianz Arena. Both teams arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Bayern were looking to pick up points after winning their previous two games against SC Freiburg away and Union Berlin at home, by 4-1 and 4-0 respectively whilst Augsburg were looking to extend their winning run after a 3-0 victory against Wolfsburg. As it stands, Bayern and Augsburg are 1st, (69 points) and 14th, (32 points), spots respectively, after 29 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Bayern piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Robert Lewandowski, at 82 minutes. The game ended with a 1-0 home victory.

For Bayern, Jamal Musiala, Alphonso Davies, Marcel Sabitzer, Kingsley Coman and Josip Stanisic, came on for Serge Gnabry, Omar Richards, Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sane and Thomas Muller. Augsburg brought on Ricardo Pepi, Andi Zeqiri, Raphael Framberger, Jan Moravek and Michael Gregoritsch, to replace Florian Niederlechner, Ruben Vargas, Robert Gumny, Arne Maier and Andre Hahn.

There were bookings for Nianzou Tanguy Kouassi from Bayern. For Augsburg, Reece Oxford and Niklas Dorsch saw yellow.

Bayern will next travel to Arminia Bielefeld, while Augsburg will face Hertha at home.
