Gladbach 5 – Hoffenheim 1: From Kraichgau region blown away at the Borussia Park

B Mönchengladbach defeat Hoffenheim 5-1 on Saturday at the Borussia Park. Gladbach wanted to continue adding points after a 1-1 draw against Eintracht Frankfurt. Hoffenheim lost 4-2 in the last match they played against Bayer Leverkusen. Following the final whistle at the end of the last game of the Bundesliga season, Gladbach are in 10th place on the table and has 45 points while Hoffenheim sit in 9th with 46 points after 34 matches.

From Kraichgau region started the first half well, with an early goal from Andrej Kramaric in the 3rd minute. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Lars Stindl managed to equalize and take the sides off, 26 minutes in at 1-1. Gladbach looked to have the game under control when they scored again and increased their lead, thanks to a goal from Alassane Plea, 43 minutes in to establish a 2-1. They then scored again, increasing their advantage thanks to a goal from Jonas Hofmann just before half-time. The first half ended 3-1.

The Colts started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with Breel Embolo finding the net, at 53 minutes. However they weren’t finished yet and Jonas Hofmann made it 5-1 at the 68 minute mark to make it 5-1.

For Gladbach, Marcus Thuram, Joe Scally, Patrick Herrmann, Matthias Ginter and Christoph Kramer, came on for Breel Embolo, Stefan Lainer, Lars Stindl, Marvin Friedrich and Jonas Hofmann. Hoffenheim brought on Justin Che, Nick Proschwitz, Sebastian Rudy, Umut Tohumcu and Ermin Bicakcic, to replace Diadie Samassekou, Jacob Bruun Larsen, Robert Skov, Angelo Stiller and Kevin Akpoguma.

There were bookings for Lars Stindl from Gladbach, and Diadie Samassekou and Kevin Vogt, for Hoffenheim.
