Arminia 2 – Greuther Fürth 2: Points shared with visitors at the Schüco Arena

On Sunday, Arminia and Greuther Fürth were held to a 2-2 draw at the Schüco Arena. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Arminia arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 2-2 draw with SC Freiburg in their previous game. Greuther Fürth are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. After today’s result, Arminia are in 16th place, with 18 points from 19 matches, while Greuther Fürth sit in 18th, with 7 points from 19.

Arminia dominated the first half, thanks to a goal from Masaya Okugawa, 8 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Jamie Leweling equalised for Greuther Fürth in the 35th minute, to take a 1-1 lead into half time.

Greuther Fürth took the lead in the second half, with Havard Nielsen finding the net at the 67 minute mark. In the end though, their lead was short lived, as Gonzalo Castro equalised for The Blues in the 83rd minute. The final result, Arminia 2, Greuther Fürth 2.

For Arminia, Robin Hack, Manuel Prietl, Janni Serra, Gonzalo Castro and Guilherme Ramos, came on for Patrick Wimmer, Sebastian Vasiliadis, Florian Kruger, Alessandro Schopf and Cedric Brunner. Greuther Fürth brought on Jetro Willems, Havard Nielsen, Afimico Pululu, Maximilian Bauer and Simon Asta for Gian-Luca Itter, Jeremy Dudziak, Branimir Hrgota, Jamie Leweling and Timothy Tillmann.

There were bookings for Sebastian Vasiliadis, Andres Andrade, Joakim Nilsson and Guilherme Ramos from Arminia. For Greuther Fürth, Gian-Luca Itter saw yellow.

Arminia will next play Eintracht Frankfurt away, with Greuther Fürth facing Mainz at home.
