São Paulo on home loss to Palmeiras at Morumbí on Tuesday. São Paulo arrived at the match looking pick up points, following a previous defeat to Botafogo. Palmeiras were coming from consecutive wins against Atlético Goianense and Coritiba. As the table looks today, São Paulo are in 10th place, with 18 points from 13 matches, while Palmeiras sit in 1st, with 28 points from 13.

São Paulo started the match well, when Patrick gave São Paulo the lead, 17 minutes in, finishing the first half 1-0.

Palmeiras continued to pile on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Gustavo Gomez found the net at the 90 minute mark. Palmeiras then scored once more and turned the match thanks to a goal from Murilo Cerqueira just before the final whistle to make it 2-1.

Substitutions for São Paulo included Rafinha, Pablo Maia, Emiliano Rigoni, Eder and Miranda for Igor Vinicius, Gabriel Neves, Rodrigo Nestor, Jonathan Calleri and Reinaldo, repectively. Palmeiras brought on Mayke, Rafael Navarro, Breno, Eduard Atuesta and Wesley, to replace Luan Garcia, Rony, Gabriel Veron, Danilo and Joaquin Piquerez.

There were bookings for Igor Vinicius, Reinaldo and Gabriel Neves from São Paulo, and Danilo, for Palmeiras.

São Paulo will next play Juventude at home, with Palmeiras facing Avaí away.
