São Paulo 0 – Internacional 1: Visitors secure points with win at Morumbí

Internacional strolled past São Paulo with a 1-0 win on Wednesday at Morumbí. São Paulo arrived at the match looking to pick up more points after losing their last match 3-1 to Fluminense. Internacional were coming off the back of a 2-0 win against Athletico Paranaense. São Paulo are now in 9th place, with 51 points from 37 matches, while Internacional sit in 2nd, with 67 points from 37.

Internacional dominated the first half, when Mauricio found the net, at 21 minutes, to take a 1-0 lead into half time. The second 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for São Paulo included Patryck, Welington, Andre Anderson, Nahuel Bustos and Talles Costa for Luizao, Reinaldo, Luciano, Marcos Guilherme and Igor Gomes, respectively. Internacional brought on Matheus Dias, Thauan Lara, Wanderson, Braian Romero and Taison, to replace Johnny, Alan Patrick, Pedro Henrique, Alemao and Mauricio.

There were bookings for Rodrigo Nestor, Luizao and Andre Anderson from São Paulo, and Alan Patrick, Rodrigo Moledo, Vitao and Alemao, for Internacional.

São Paulo will next travel to Goiás EC, while Internacional will face Palmeiras at home.
