São Paulo 1 – Corinthians 1: Honours even and points shared at Morumbí

On Sunday, São Paulo and Corinthians played out a 1-1 draw at Morumbí. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were each keen to pick up points. São Paulo were looking for a victory following a disappointing 1-1 draw with Cuiaba in their previous game. Corinthians, meanwhile, had secured a point against Internacional in their previous match. São Paulo are now in 15th place, with 30 points from 26 matches, while Corinthians sit in 5th, with 43 points from 26.

Corinthians started strongly in the first half, when Yuri Alberto gave them the lead, at 14 minutes. However, their lead was short-lived, as Eder equalised for São Paulo in the 33rd minute and saw the first half out 1-1. Both teams unable to deliver anything further, the score remained at 1-1 at full time.

Substitutions for São Paulo included Luciano, Pablo Maia, Jonathan Calleri, Patrick and Reinaldo for Nahuel Bustos, Andres Colorado, Eder, Igor Gomes and Miranda, respectively. Corinthians brought on Renato Augusto, Mateus Vital, Adson and Fagner, to replace Giuliano, Roger Guedes, Gustavo Da Silva and Gil.

There were bookings for Eder, Miranda and Luciano from São Paulo, and Gil, for Corinthians.

Next up, São Paulo are away to Ceará, whilst Corinthians will travel to face America Mineiro.
