Santos 1-2 Flamengo: Flamengo seal maximum points at the Urbano Caldeira

Flamengo’s 2-1 win over Santos FC on Sunday, was hard fought at Urbano Caldeira. Santos wanted to continue adding points following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Corinthians in their previous game. Flamengo, on the other hand, were looking to extend their winning run after a 3-0 victory against America Mineiro. At the moment, Santos are currently 8th with 19 points from 15 matches, while Flamengo sit in 7th, with 21 points from 15.

Flamengo found the net first, when Pedro found the net, at 18 minutes, to take a 1-0 lead into half time.

Santos took the lead in the second half, when Vinicius Zanocelo found the net, at 66 minutes. In the end though, Flamengo in the 73rd minute took the victory via a Gabriel Barbosa goal so at full time it was 2-1 to Flamengo.

Substitutions for Santos included Rwan, Bruno Felipe De Oliveira, Carlos Sanchez, Lucas Pires and Ricardo Goulart for Auro, Angelo, Vinicius Zanocelo, Felipe Jonatan and Leo Baptistao, repectively. Flamengo replaced Lazaro, Gabriel Barbosa, Diego, Giorgian De Arrascaeta and David Luiz with Vitinho, Marinho, Everton Ribeiro, Victor Hugo Gomes Silva and Pedro.

There were bookings for Felipe Jonatan, Angelo, Guilherme Camacho and Vinicius Zanocelo from Santos, and Thiago Maia and Gabriel Barbosa, for Flamengo.

Santos will play at home against Atlético Goianense, while Flamengo will face Corinthians away.
