Fortaleza 3-0 Internacional: Fortaleza makes light work of things at Estadio Castelao

Fortaleza EC on a 3-0 win against Internacional on Monday at Estadio Castelao. Both sides arrived fresh from some positive results. Fortaleza were looking to pick up points, following a 1-0 victory against Cuiaba. Internacional, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 3-0 victory against Atl. Mineiro. At the moment, Fortaleza and Internacional sit 19th, (18 points) and 6th, (33 points), in the league respectively, after 21 matches.

Fortaleza continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Hercules Pereira Do Nascimento found the net, 70 minutes in. Fortaleza then scored again and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Robson in the 84th minute to make it 3-0.

Substitutions for Fortaleza included Hercules Pereira Do Nascimento, Jose Welison, Valentin Depietri, Fabricio Baiano and Lucas Lima for Lucas Crispim, Ronald, Moises Vieira da Veiga, Robson and Lucas Sasha, repectively. Internacional replaced Alemao, Edenilson, Rene, Taison and Carlos De Pena with Braian Romero, Liziero, Thauan Lara, David and Kaique Rocha.

The referee booked Ronald from Fortaleza and Romarinho went off with a red card, while Internacional’s Braian Romero, Thauan Lara, Johnny, Liziero and Alan Patrick also received a yellow.

Fortaleza will next travel to Ceará, while Internacional will face Fluminense at home.
