Ceará 0 – Fluminense 1: Visitors secure points with win at Estadio Castelao

Ceará fell to a home defeat at the hands of Fluminense at Estadio Castelao on Tuesday. Ceará were looking forward to playing again after losing their last match 2-1 to Internacional. Fluminense, meanwhile, were coming off the back of a 2-0 win against Corinthians. Ceará and Fluminense sit 17th, (34 points) and 4th, (61 points), spots respectively, after 35 matches.

After a goalless first half, Fluminense continued to apply pressure in the second period and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from German Cano on the 72 minute mark, seing the match finish 1-0.

Substitutions for Ceará included Victor Luis, Iury Lirio, Erick, Vinicius Lima and Geovane for Diego, Richardson, Vinicius Goes, Fernando Sobral and Richard, respectively. Fluminense brought on Matheus Martins, Nathan, David Braz and Alan, to replace Yago Felipe, Nino, Ganso and German Cano.

The referee booked five players. Cleber Bomfim and Victor Luis from Ceará, who saw yellow cards and Cleber Bomfim (2 yellow cards), sent off with a red, as well as for Fluminense German Cano and Cristiano received yellows.

Ceará will next travel to Corinthians, while Fluminense will face São Paulo at home.
