Mineiro 2-0 Flamengo: Mineiro dominate for comfortable home win

Mineiro enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against Flamengo at Governador Magalhaes Pinto on Sunday. Mineiro arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after a scoreless draw against Ceará in their previous match. Flamengo were able to continue their winning streak after a 2-0 win against Cuiaba in their last match. As the table looks today, Mineiro and Flamengo currently occupy 3rd and 13th spots in the league, with 21 points and 15 points respectively after 13 matches.

Mineiro dominated the first half, when Ignacio Fernandez gave Mineiro the lead at the 35 minute mark. The score at half time was 1-0.

Mineiro continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Ademir found the net just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 2-0.

Substitutions for Mineiro included Otavio, Rubens, Ademir, Eduardo Sasha and Rever for Jair, Keno, Eduardo Vargas, Hulk and Ignacio Fernandez, repectively. Flamengo brought on Marinho, Willian Arao, Pedro, Lazaro and Diego, to replace Vitinho, Andreas Pereira, Gabriel Barbosa, Everton Ribeiro and Joao Gomes.

There were bookings for Ignacio Fernandez, Mariano, Eduardo Vargas and Ademir from Mineiro. For Flamengo, Marinho saw yellow.

Flamengo and Mineiro will next play at home to America Mineiro and Fortaleza EC respectively.
