Mineiro 3-0 Cuiaba: Bad day for visitors at Governador Magalhaes Pinto

Atl. Mineiro cruises against Cuiaba on a home win at Governador Magalhaes Pinto on Friday. Mineiro were looking to get back to winning ways after losing 2-0 to Botafogo in their previous fixture. Cuiaba had managed to pick up a point in their matchup with Palmeiras. Mineiro and Cuiaba sit 7th, (55 points) and 16th, (38 points), spots respectively, after 37 matches.

Mineiro started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, with an early goal from Keno in the 4th minute. They then scored again, pulling level thanks to a second effort from Keno just before half-time to see out the first half 2-0.

Mineiro once more applied the pressure in the second half and were rewarded, when Eduardo Vargas found the net, 56 minutes in, which sealed the victory for Mineiro.

Substitutions for Mineiro included Rubens, Nathan, Cristian Pavon, Ademir and Calebe for Dodo, Rever, Matias Zaracho, Keno and Jair, respectively. Cuiaba brought on Kelvin Osorio, Felipe Marques, Lucas Cardoso and Rodriguinho, to replace Rafael Gava, Jonathan Cafu, Andre Luis and Deyverson.

There were bookings for Keno from Mineiro. For Cuiaba, Deyverson, Igor Carius, Alan Empereur and Denilson Alves Borges saw yellow.

Mineiro will next play Corinthians away, with Cuiaba facing Coritiba at home.
