America Mineiro’s 1-0 win over Internacional on Wednesday, was hard fought at Independencia. America were on the hunt for more points following a disappointing 2-2 draw with Goiás EC in their previous game. Internacional, meanwhile, were looking to extend their winning run after a 2-1 victory against Ceará. America are now in 9th place, with 49 points from 35 matches, while Internacional sit in 2nd, with 64 points from 35.

Following a goalless first half, America piled on the pressure in the second and were rewarded, when Alexandre Egea gave them the lead in the 76th minute. When the final whistle blew, the result was 1-0 to America.

Substitutions for America included Ricardo Silva, Wellington Paulista, Aloisio, Lucas Kal and Arthur Augusto De Matos Soares for Eder Ferreira, Henrique Almeida, Everaldo, Martin Benitez and Raul Caceres, respectively. Internacional brought on Mauricio, Braian Romero, Pedro Henrique, David and Lucas Ramos, to replace Edenilson, Alemao, Wanderson, Alan Patrick and Carlos De Pena.
