Talleres 2-1 Gimnasia: Slump in form continues for Gimnasia after loss

Talleres Córdoba defeated Gimnasia La Plata 2-1 on Sunday at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes. Talleres were looking to continue their good run after winning last match. Gimnasia, meanwhile, were unable to beat Argentinos Juniors in a 0-0 draw. Following this match, Talleres and Gimnasia sit 18th (32 points) and 9th (41 points) in the league respectively, after a total of 27 matches.

Talleres started the first half well, when Matias Esquivel found the net, at 22 minutes, finishing the first half 1-0.

Gimnasia started the second half with an intensified spirit, thanks to a goal from Tomas Muro on the 52 minute mark. Talleres managed to edge ahead with a goal from Maximiliano Gonzalo Alvez, 75 minutes in, sealing a 2-1 victory for the home side.

Substitutions for Talleres included Ulises Ortegoza, Enzo Diaz, Rodrigo Villagra, Michael Santos and Fabio Alvarez for Christian Oliva, Matias Esquivel, Alan Franco, Leandro Espejo and Matias Godoy, respectively. Gimnasia brought on Juan Ignacio Miramon, Tomas Muro, Emanuel Cecchini, Alan Lescano and Leandro Contin, to replace Benjamin Dominguez, Carlos Insaurralde, Erik Ramirez, Oscar Piris and Franco Soldano.

There were bookings for Leandro Espejo, Angelo Martino, Rodrigo Villagra and Julian Malatini from Talleres. For Gimnasia, Carlos Insaurralde and Erik Ramirez saw yellow.
