Lanús 1 – Defensa and Justicia 1: Honours even and points shared at Ciudad de Lanús – Néstor Díaz Pérez

Lanús were held to 1-1 draw by Defensa and Justicia down on Saturday at Ciudad de Lanús – Néstor Díaz Pérez. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Lanús arrived with the intention of increasing their league score following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Rosario Central in their previous game. Defensa and Justicia are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As things stand, both teams are on 2 points and sit in 19th and 18th places respectively after 2 matches.

Lanús started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, when Malcorra gave Lanús the lead at the 39 minute mark. The score at half time was 1-0.

Defensa and Justicia took the lead in the second half, with a goal from Loaiza in the 68th minute, leaving the final score at 1-1.

Both coaches used the full entitlement. Substitutions for Lanús included Orozco and Di Plácido for Malcorra and Careaga, repectively, Defensa and Justicia brought on Fernández, Duarte, Brahian Cuello and Albertengo to replace Fontana, Rotondi, Bou and Fernández.

The referee booked Varaldo and Belmonte from Lanús. Defensa and Justicia had the worst of it though, with Loaiza seeing yellow, and Pizzini then sent off with a red.

Lanús will next travel to Atlético Tucumán, while Defensa and Justicia will face CA Huracán at home.
