Argentinos 2-1 CA Tigre: Argentinos hold visitors at bay for three points

Argentinos enjoyed a mesmerising home victory against CA Tigre at Diego Armando Maradona on Tuesday. Argentinos were looking to pick up points, following a 2-1 victory against Central Córdoba. CA Tigre, on the other hand, secured a point against Talleres Córdoba in their previous match. At the moment, Argentinos are currently 12th with 10 points from 7 matches, while CA Tigre sit in 24th, with 6 points from 7.

Argentinos started strongly in the first half, when Gaston Veron found the net in the 14th minute. The momentum was now with Argentinos, who then scored again through a goal from Javier Cabrera, 25 minutes in to establish a 2-0. CA Tigre in turn, then responded in the 34th minute increasing their lead with an effort from Mateo Retegui. The score at half time was 2-1. The second half ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Substitutions for Argentinos included Matias Alejandro Galarza, Thiago Nuss, Mariano Bittolo, Luciano Gomez and Federico Redondo Solari for Franco Moyano, Gabriel Carabajal, Gaston Veron, Javier Cabrera and Nicolas Reniero, repectively. CA Tigre brought on Nicolas Demartini, Sebastian Prediger, Cristian Zabala and Pablo Magnin, to replace Alexis Castro, Ijiel Protti, Ezequiel Fernandez and Lucas Menossi.

The referee booked from Argentinos Nicolas Reniero, Franco Moyano and Miguel Torren and from CA Tigre Alexis Castro and Nicolas Demartini. Both teams also had a sending off, with Miguel Torren (2 yellow cards) for Argentinos and Brian Abel Luciatti for CA Tigre.

Argentinos will play away against Barracas Central, while CA Tigre will face Estudiantes La Plata at home.
